Meet Cheme'
pronounced SHUH-MAY

Hello! I'm so glad you have found me!

I am a self-taught long arm quilter. I began my sewing journey as a teenager. My mom tried to help me learn to sew and I hated it. Once I was married and had my second child, I started dabbling in making kid clothes. I had a colicky baby who didn't cry when I wore him. My aunt lent me a sewing machine and I was hooked. I would bounce that colicky baby while sewing late into the night. I soon bought my first sewing machine and started making my oldest daughter some clothes. Google and my mistakes taught me everything I know! I slowly began making quilts. Once I ventured into the quilt world, I knew that some day when I was "grown up" I would purchase a computerized long arm machine. Over the years I have worked for other moms in the sewing industry. I have made lots of little girl clothes as well as lots and lots of bags. My colicky baby is now 17 and I have a studio in my home just for my quilting business.

Every day you can find me in my sewing room, even if I'm just hiding from my kids with a piece of chocolate. I have five kids, ranging from adult to second grade. My youngest finally goes to school all day and so I'm diving into building my long arm business.

When I am not in my sewing room, I'm in my piano room teaching the neighbor kids how to play the piano. I serve within my community in several capacities. I am a member of the Mountain Valley Quilt Guild. I am a member of the Upper Vally Music Teacher's Assocation. I sing/play piano in the Upper Valley Women's Choir.

Busy is how I like it!
